Running on about 3 hours sleep, I miraculously managed to make my 6am flight to Melbourne on Saturday morning for Ultimate Wingman (such is my dedication to a good cause, and to partying). After catching up with some beautiful friends during the day, followed by a wee snooze, I made my way to Fitzroy Bowling Club for more friends, more fun, music, dancing, and being a voyeur as 80 speed-daters did their thing (the sexual tension was palpable).
The team led by Oliver did an incredible job of organising every last detail, so that the night ran without a hitch. I think the true highlight for me was watching the incredibly nervous Oliver being auctioned off for a dinner date. How much? $162.50. The man has courage. Oliver Happy met his Miss Wright that night (true story).
Not only was it a huge success for our speed-daters and all involved in organising the event, but most importantly, the night raised over $4,000 towards the incredible work of Atma <www.atmaaustralia.org.
I’m expecting some great photos, and will post when they’re available. Until then, it’s time for some serious sleep.
